Kevin Negus
General Partner


Kevin joined CampVentures in early 2003. Prior to joining the firm, he was Chief Technology Officer with Proxim Corporation (NASDAQ: PROX) in Sunnyvale, CA, where from 1998 to 2002 he was responsible for core technology strategy, including silicon development, acquisitions, standards participation and intellectual property licensing. While at Proxim, Kevin was also responsible for corporate venture capital investments in Atheros Communications (NASDAQ: ATHR); Cayman Systems (Netopia; NASDAQ: NTPA); MobileStar Network Corporation (T-Mobile USA; NYSE: DT); Simple Devices; and WinNet Metropolitan Communications Systems (ECI Telecom; NASDAQ: ECIL).

With CampVentures, Kevin has led investments in WiDeFi (acquired by Qualcomm, NASDAQ: QCOM), Quantance and GainSpan. He has also participated on the boards of advisors of both Quorum Systems (acquired by Spreadtrum Communications, NASDAQ: SPRD) and SiTime. He was formerly a member of the FCC's Technical Advisory Committee and a management advisor to Resonext Communications - a company acquired by RF Micro Devices (NASDAQ: RFMD) in December 2002. He has published more than 40 technical papers and holds several US patents. His nearly 20-year Silicon Valley career started at Fairchild Semiconductor in Palo Alto, California.

Kevin received a BASc and MASc in mechanical engineering from the University of Waterloo in Canada. Kevin's PhD, in engineering from the University of Waterloo, was focused on the modeling of semiconductor devices for applications such as wireless and optical communications. Kevin also received the prestigious University-wide and Faculty-wide Gold Medal Awards for his MASc and PhD degrees, respectively, in the academic years in which those degrees were granted.
